The Psychiatric Record is an educational publication. It is not a professional service, clinic, law firm, consulting practice, or billing company. Educational limits are stated on the Disclaimer page and are incorporated by reference. These Terms cover the contractual conditions of use.

You may read articles and download or print PDFs, checklists, worksheets, maps, and similar materials for your own personal or professional educational use, including use inside your own practice as a reference or teaching aid.

You may not republish, resell, sublicense, or redistribute the materials as your own product, course, template library, or paid offering without prior written permission from The Psychiatric Record. You may not remove attribution, impliedly present the work as originating from another publisher, or use the materials to train a commercial model or dataset without permission.

Short quotation with attribution, of the kind ordinary in professional discussion, is permitted.

The Psychiatric Record retains copyright in the site, newsletter, articles, and downloadable materials, except for third-party works that are quoted or linked and remain the property of their owners.

Subject to these Terms, The Psychiatric Record grants you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to download and print materials for your own practice or personal educational use. No other license is granted. Trademarks, the publication name, and the site design may not be used to imply sponsorship or affiliation.

Newsletter subscription and any reader login are provided through Beehiiv. You must provide accurate information, keep credentials confidential if an account is created, and use the service only for lawful purposes.

You may not scrape the site or newsletter in a way that burdens the service, bypass access controls, interfere with other users, or use the site for any unlawful purpose.

The site and newsletter are hosted by Beehiiv. Beehiiv’s terms and technical operation apply to hosting, delivery, and subscription management. The Psychiatric Record is not Beehiiv and does not control Beehiiv’s platform.

Links to statutes, agencies, journals, vendors, and other third-party sites are provided for convenience. The Psychiatric Record is not responsible for third-party content, availability, or practices.

Use of the site or materials does not create a physician–patient, attorney–client, or other professional relationship. See the Disclaimer.

The site and materials are provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, The Psychiatric Record disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. The Psychiatric Record does not warrant that content is complete, current, or error-free, or that the site will be uninterrupted or secure.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, The Psychiatric Record and anyone who writes, edits, or hosts content for it will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or business, arising from the site, newsletter, or materials, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, any remaining liability for a claim arising from the site or materials is limited to the amount you paid to The Psychiatric Record for the material at issue, if any. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those jurisdictions, liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless The Psychiatric Record from claims, losses, and reasonable expenses (including attorneys’ fees) arising from your misuse of the site or materials, your republication or redistribution in violation of these Terms, or your violation of law.

The Psychiatric Record may change the site, newsletter, materials, or these Terms. The “Last updated” date will change when these Terms are revised. Continued use after a revision is acceptance of the revised Terms. Material changes may also be noted in the newsletter or on the site when practical.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. To the extent a court requires a more specific body of law, the laws applicable where The Psychiatric Record may be sued will apply. No particular state is designated as exclusive governing law or venue.
