This page describes what The Psychiatric Record can actually say about information collected through the website and newsletter. The site and newsletter are hosted by Beehiiv. Beehiiv’s processing applies to subscription, delivery, and site operation. Beehiiv’s own policy is at https://www.beehiiv.com/privacy.
What we collect
Newsletter subscription. If you subscribe, Beehiiv collects the email address you submit and related subscription data (for example, confirmation status and delivery events). That information is used to send the newsletter and to manage the list.
Email to the publication. If you write to [email protected], the message and your email address are received as ordinary correspondence. Use that address for corrections, permissions, and other publication matters. Do not send patient-identifying information.
Website logs. Assume that Beehiiv and ordinary web infrastructure record standard server and access logs (such as IP address, browser type, pages requested, and timestamps). The Psychiatric Record has not independently verified a separate analytics vendor and does not name one here.
Beehiiv may set cookies or similar technologies needed to run the site, remember a login, complete a subscription, or measure basic delivery. Cookie practices are governed by Beehiiv’s policy and your browser settings.
How information is used
Subscription information is used to operate the newsletter and the public site. Correspondence is used to respond to the sender. The Psychiatric Record does not sell subscriber lists. That is a statement of current publication practice, not a representation under any particular state “sale of personal information” statute.
The Psychiatric Record does not operate a patient portal and does not seek protected health information from readers.
Third parties
Beehiiv hosts the site and newsletter and processes subscriber data for that purpose. Linked third-party sites have their own policies. The Psychiatric Record is not responsible for those practices.
This policy does not appoint a data-protection officer and does not make claims under GDPR, CCPA, or similar statutes that have not been specifically analyzed for this publication.
