About The Psychiatric Record

The Psychiatric Record is an independent educational publication for psychiatric and mental-health professionals. We examine clinical evidence, prescribing, policy, technology, and the practical work of delivering psychiatric care.

Our focus is the decision behind the headline: what a finding supports, where its limits lie, and what questions it raises for practice. Articles distinguish research findings and official requirements from editorial interpretation and proposed workflows.

Who we write for

We write primarily for psychiatrists and other mental-health professionals who need a clear account of evidence and policy, with enough context to judge how it applies to their work.

Editorial responsibility

The Psychiatric Record is edited by a psychiatrist certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in psychiatry.

Articles are published under The Psychiatric Record byline. The editor is responsible for publication decisions and corrections and can be reached at [email protected].

Sources and corrections

Our Editorial Standards explain how we use sources, identify illustrative scenarios, and handle corrections. Articles state source-review dates where applicable and identify important limits on the evidence.

If you find an error, email [email protected] with the article link and the passage you believe needs correction. Please do not send patient-identifying information. Substantive corrections are noted on the article or in a later issue.

Funding and conflicts of interest

The Psychiatric Record receives no funding from pharmaceutical companies or other industry sources. The editor is not aware of any relevant conflicts of interest.

Scope

The publication provides general education. Its articles do not replace independent professional judgment or individualized medical, legal, billing, or other professional advice. See our Disclaimer.
